Reshmi and Aron, an English couple with Sri Lankan roots, celebrated their wedding over two days, bringing two cultures together: a Hindu ceremony at Le Park in Mougins the day before, then the wedding day at the Bastide du Roy in Antibes. For this wedding, I provided the music for the cocktail hour with a violinist, then the after party as a DJ set, taking over from a live band flown in from the UK.
One weekend, two ceremonies
The weekend began with a Hindu ceremony at Le Park in Mougins, with its rituals, colours and music. The next day, guests gathered at the Bastide du Roy for the wedding: a historic Provençal estate between Antibes and Biot, with its gardens, century-old olive trees and views of the Alps.

At a multicultural wedding like this one, the music has to bridge two worlds: honouring the family’s traditions while creating a party that speaks to every guest, whether they came from the UK, Sri Lanka or the French Riviera.
The cocktail hour: DJ and violin
For the cocktail hour, I paired an elegant DJ set with violinist Alina. The violin brings emotion and the presence of a live musician, while the DJ sets the rhythm and the mood: the right balance for a moment when guests reconnect and enjoy the gardens.

The evening: a UK live band, then the after party
For the evening, Reshmi and Aron had chosen a band from the UK, @turnitupmusic. My role was to set the stage and take over: coordinate timings and technical needs with the band, then move into the after party with a DJ set to keep the dance floor full until the very end of the night.
Working with a band travelling from abroad takes real coordination ahead of the day: technical requirements, timing, transitions. It’s the same approach as my DJ + live line-ups, where DJ and musicians complement each other rather than simply taking turns.
Planned by Moment Day
The whole weekend was planned and coordinated by Marina from Moment Day. On a wedding spanning two days, two venues and two cultures, coordination at this level makes all the difference, for the couple and for every supplier.
