For couples who want the party to feel like a show, I put together DJ + live line-ups with musicians I work with regularly: vocalists, guitar, saxophone, drums and violin. They play on top of my mix in real time: a sax solo over a house classic, a singer taking the chorus, live drums lifting the drop. You get the energy of a band with the flexibility of a DJ.
Why combine a DJ and live musicians?
A band on its own has a limited setlist and breaks. A DJ on their own can play anything, but without the physical presence of a musician on stage. Combining the two keeps the best of both: the DJ’s unlimited repertoire and ability to read the room, and the emotion of live music, which turns a familiar song into a moment guests remember.
As music director, I build the line-up, choose the musicians to fit your wedding and coordinate the whole flow: who plays when, on which songs, and how the live performance blends into the mix.
The line-ups: one musician or a full band
- Vocalists: live vocals on the biggest songs of the night, from the cocktail hour to the dance floor
- Guitar: acoustic for the cocktail hour, electric for the party
- Saxophone: the signature sound of the dance floor, from sunset to the last track
- Drums: live percussion that takes the party up a level
- Violin: elegant during the ceremony, unexpected on the dance floor

How it works on the day
- Ceremony: violin or acoustic guitar for more intimate, emotional moments
- Cocktail hour: a live band or an acoustic duo while guests mingle
- Dinner: a softer musical atmosphere, timed with the caterer and the speeches
- Party: the DJ set, with musicians stepping in for the big moments and lifting the dance floor
This is exactly the line-up we put together for a wedding in Cassis at Domaine de Canaille: a live band for the cocktail hour, then a DJ party with singers, violin, guitar and drums.

What couples say
Brice was much more than our DJ: he coordinated the whole atmosphere and music of our wedding. He found us an exceptional band and singers who set the party on fire all night.
Beyond choosing the songs, he advised us on the pace of each moment of the day and evening, to create the best possible atmosphere and get everyone dancing. Mission accomplished!

Let’s build your line-up
From a solo sax at the cocktail hour to a complete DJ + live set for the party, every line-up is built around your wedding. If your guests come from several countries, see also my guide to planning a bilingual wedding in the South of France.
Tell me what you have in mind, and I’ll put together the right formula.
